The concept of the Tooth Fairy dates back to the 1920’s. At that time, fairies were essentially a vehicle for messages to kids. From bath fairies to fresh air fairies, they were used to encourage children to be better. In 1927, Esther Watkins Arnold released a children’s “book” titled “The Tooth Fairy.” This started to be performed in schools soon after, to encourage proper oral health. Over the years, The Tooth Fairy has been known to leave many different items for kids who leave their teeth under their pillows. In 1942, Palm Beach Post columnist Bob Balfe noted that The Tooth Fairy left war stamps for his kids. Of course, to this day, normally The Tooth Fairy is leaving varying amounts of money. toothfairycreepin

From a business standpoint, this makes no fucking sense. Teeth are not worth anything. What secondary market could The Tooth Fairy lord over, where he needs an endless supply of children’s teeth? Fucking weird.
