Time To Celebrate…National Rotisserie Chicken Day

Good Morning Jamokes, it’s Wednesday June 2, 2021!

As it is every June 2nd, today is National Rotisserie Chicken Day!

I feel like it was about 10 years ago, when grocery stores started regularly stocking fresh, rotisserie chickens in their prepared foods sections. Ever since then, these have been a go-to for me, whenever I needed a quick meal. The great thing about them, is that they’re super versatile. First off, they’re generally just healthy, which is, of course, a good thing. Second, you can do so much with them, whether you use the chicken for salads or sandwiches, or just separate it and eat as is, you’re fine either way. Also, they’re normally rather inexpensive, as well, as come in a variety of flavors, and you can’t go wrong with that.

I remember back in the day, when I used to be a bouncer, and these used to be my jam. I would be going from my day job to the bar, and didn’t have a ton of time in between, so I’d stop at the grocery store and get a lemon pepper rotisserie chicken. Then, as I was waiting for the doors to open, I’d sit at our bar, eat that rotisserie chicken with my bare hands, and wash it down with as many cups of pickle juice as I wanted. Besides it being healthy and delicious, this served a very important purpose—when I was IDing people at the door, people would remember that they don’t wanna fuck with the guy who smells like cooked chicken and pickles.

Hey kids, enjoy a rotisserie chicken, and I’ll see you tomorrow, when it’s time to celebrate…
