Good Morning Jamokes, it’s Wednesday January 8, 2020!
As it is every January 8th, today is National Argyle Day!
Argyle is a pattern originating from the tartan of Clan Campbell of Argyll, in the western part of Scotland. The pattern was seen on kilts, and other clothing, dating back to the 17th Century. As we know it today, argyle commonly refers to a pattern of overlapping diamonds.
As a wearer of bold and colorful socks, I am very familiar with argyle. A look inside my sock drawer provides many examples of the pattern. Apparently this is a commonality among my interests, as the UNC basketball program incorporates argyle in many ways, from their shorts, to the press conference backdrop, and even to Coach Roy Williams’ wardrobe.
Hey kids, add some argyle in your life, and I’ll see you tomorrow, when it’s time to celebrate…
