Time To Celebrate…National Apple Pie Day
Good Morning Jamokes, it’s Thursday May 13, 2021!
As is every May 13th, today is National Apple Pie Day!
The first recorded recipe for apple pie actually dates back to England, in 1381. Among the ingredients, were “good” apples. Good to know they decided to leave the shitty apples for something else. Despite originating in jolly old England, apple pie is as much a symbol of America, as hot dogs and baseball. At the turn of the century, pie started to get a bad name, with regards to nutrition. The apple pie actually saved the day, as it had more nutritional value than other popular pies of the times. Even during World War II, soldiers were quoted as fighting ‘for mom and apple pie!”
I’ve made it very clear that I’m a big time America guy. Part of this is being a supporter of all things American, especially apple pie. Sure, I could go on about apple pie, like Bubba from Forest Gump, but that’s not why you’re here.
Hey kids, grab a slice of your favorite apple pie, and I’ll see you tomorrow, when it’s time to celebrate…
