As it is every August 11th, today is National Raspberry Bombe Day!
Raspberries are a summer specialty, so it’s not surprise thatĀ National Raspberry Bombe Day takes place during August. Normally, a bombe consists of sherbet, heavy cream, sugar, chopped nuts, candied fruit, and a little bit of the rum, and this variation, clearly, centers the entire dessert around raspberries. There is no official creator of the raspberry bombe, but that just means that there is a spot open for the person who can make the best one.
As I’ve said time and time again, I could live without sweets. Along the same lines, I can tell you I’ve never had a raspberry bombe, but damnnnn, it looks and sounds good. Being that it’s summer, and raspberries are big time in season, it seems like the best time to partake, for the first time.
